Stolpman Vineyards - Crunchy Roastie Syrah

Stolpman Vineyards - Crunchy Roastie Syrah

$22.00

Stolpman Vineyards. If you don’t know the name, know this: The wines are solid and the family is a collection of amazing, and some of my favorite, people.

Crunchy Roastie (a play on the words Côte Rôtie or “Cotie Rotie”, as some refer to the region in France) is the newest member of the Stolpman’s SO FRESH family and I’m elated! It’s delicious…

SO FRESH is a line of wines from Stolpman Vineyards, including the Goddamn Gamay, in which all the wines are fermented with whole grapes in sealed tanks. Since the grapes aren’t crushed, the wine absorbs less from the tannins and stays vibrant, delicate, and lively! This type of fermentation is called “Carbonic Maceration”

As for the description of the wine, I actually Laughed Out Loud when I read the one that Peter Stolpman sent me, so I’m going to be quoting him directly… I couldn’t top it!

“Driving pure blue fruit gushes through the mouth with upfront classic Syrah olive character. Intriguing savage Sanger and brambly raspberry with a pop of acidity. High toned and fresh to the max yes full-throttle, giving, and heady. This last “come-to-mama” voluptuousness element punches way above the expected richness of the wine’s welter-weight 12.5% alcohol”
