Fun Fact: Gros Ventre translates to “Fat Belly”… Which works out nicely because their Gamay Noir pairs with a tonne of great meals… This wine has stunning purity of fruit and great depth. Think red cherries, fresh plum, along with tobacco, cedar and a pleasant hint of anise. A dangerously delicious wine.

The 2019 Gamay noir was sourced from Witters and Barsotti Vineyards in the high country of El Dorado in the Sierra Foothills. Witters sits about 3000’ and Barsotti at 2800’ in elevation. The grapes are hand-picked and fermented separately in small S-Bins. The Witters was fermented in two bins — one destemmed and one whole cluster. The Barsotti was destemmed. The wine was left on its gross lees for 9 months in neutral French oak barrels. Only 92 cases produced
