Brendel is named for Leon Brendel, a legendary old winemaker known for planting quirky varietals like Grignolino. Brendel makes all of its wines with grapes farmed in Napa and practices low-intervention winemaking. Their message is one of inclusivity and the wines reflect that:

“Brendel doesn’t make fine wine, it makes good wine, “​because while fine wine brings some people together, good wine brings everyone together.”

The Cuvée Rouge is a Field blend - a single-vineyards wine whose grapes are grown, harvested and vinified together.

The blend is fun, it brings a touch of history as many of these varieties were planted in Napa prior to Cab and Chard taking over… and it is delicious. Layered with expression from each varietal, the Cuvee Rouge is tart, floral and just the right amount of body.
