Ramey - 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

Ramey - 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

from $74.00

Wine Advocate - Rating 93

David Ramey is considered one of the best winemakers in Napa and Sonoma for the last 30 years.  Working at famed estates such as Chalk Hill and Dominus for over two decades he was able to start his own dream with his wife Carla in 1996.  This cabernet is coming from top vineyard sites spread throughout Napa Valley and is blended with small parts of Merlot, Malbec and Petite Verdot.  The nose is of licorice, dried flowers and mint chocolate and blackberries. Medium to full bodied on the palette, it opens up into layers of chocolate and a long, luscious finish. Drunk now or age 15-20 years.

"Some winemakers are farmers, others are scientists or technicians. A few, like David Ramey, are philosophers. After 30 years in the business, Ramey has spent as much time thinking about wine as he has making it". - Tim Fish, Wine Spectator
