The day that I tried Stephane Pichat’s wines years ago, was the day that I fell in love with Cote Rotie. I’ve always loved Syrah and wines from the Rhone, but nothing has taken my breath away quite like the Pichat wines did. The “Champons” is, especially for the price, one of the best Rhones I’ve tried. It’s really fantastic and a perfect balance of bright notes and also that down ‘n dirty taste you want in a “Cotey Rotey” as my friends and I call it. I just can’t get enough of these wines… Especially if I’m serving steak!
